The Felix Project rescues high-quality surplus food that otherwise would have been thrown away and delivers it to over 400 front-line charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in London. Since launching in 2016, the charity has grown rapidly delivering enough food for 21.1 million meals in 2020 alone.
It s an impressive statistic, but also a sobering one that hints at just how pervasive food poverty is in the capital. Here, 1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day and 400,000 children are at risk of missing the next meal. With the coronavirus pandemic hitting the poorest hardest, the situation could become direr still.
